SOLAR PANELS
Benefit from huge savings on your energy bills by generating your own clean green electricity via Solar Panels.
Solar panels with battery storage allow you to reduce your electricity bills by up to 70% as you'll be supplying your own green energy, which also lowers your home's CO2 emissions.
Why should I invest in Solar Panels?
- Take control of your own energy needs
- Reduce your electricity costs by making your home more energy efficient
- Reduce your carbon footprint by generating your own green energy

BATTERY STORAGE
By using solar panels you have an effective means of generating your own electricity for your home during daylight hours, which is a great way to save money.
However during dark hours you'll still need to resort to purchsasing electricty from an energy provider to power your home.
By coupling your solar panels with battery storage you can become even more energy independent, as any unused energy from the sunlight will be convereted into AC power and stored for later usage.
This combination allows some homes to be fully self sufficient and not have to pay anything to the national grid.

AIR SOURCE HEAT PUMPS
Rather than burning fuels like traditional heating systems, Heat Pumps transfer thermal energy from the air outside into your home, to provide hot water and heating via your radiators.
They are powered by electricity and transfer heat using refrigerant to provide comfort all year round, efficient in temperatures as low as -20°C.
Heat pumps do not actually generate heat – instead they move heat from one place to another. As heat pumps do not burn fossil fuels like furnaces do, they are a greener choice for those looking to be more environmentally friendly.
ASHPs require very little maintenance, with the average heat pump having a life span of over 25 years. You can expect all-year-round operation from this technology due to the internal defrost cycle inside the system.
Why choose an Air Source Heat Pump?
- Up to 400% efficient
- Provides heating and hot water for the whole property
- Low noise
- Efficient at temperatures as low as -20°C
- Minimal maintenance
- Environmentally friendly
If you're thinking about applying for a loan to install a heat pump, call Home Energy Scotland on 0808 808 2282 for free and impartial advice.
The Home Energy Scotland Grant and Loan aims to help with the upfront costs, giving you a grant up to £7,500 (or up to £9,000 if the household qualifies for the rural uplift) and borrow up to £7,500 as an optional loan.
The amount you can borrow covers up to 100% of the heat pump cost, up to a maximum of £7,500 (whichever is smaller).
