LEAP is a free service that is helping people keep warm and reduce their energy bills without costing them any money.
The LEAP Boiler Scheme offers assistance to fuel poor or vulnerable households to repair or replace broken or condemned boilers. Eligibility is based on benefit and household income.
The LEAP Boiler Scheme is provided by AgilityEco along with its partners and funded by seven energy companies through the Warm Home Discount Industry Initiative Scheme.
Homeowners with a broken boiler and in a no heat situation and meet the following criteria:
- Income-related Employment and Support Allowance
- Contribution-based Employment and Support Allowance
- Income-based Jobseeker’s Allowance
- Income Support
- Pension Guarantee Credit
- Pension Savings Credit
- Child Tax Credit / Working Tax Credit
- Universal credit
- Housing Benefit
- Council Tax Reduction
- A Disability Benefit (Incl. Attendance Allowance, Carer’s Allowance DLA, PIP, Severe Disablement Allowance)
- Industrial Injuries Disablement Benefit
OR
- Total annual household income less than £31,000
AND
There must be someone in the household who is:
- Aged 65 or over, or
- Aged under 5, or
- Suffering from significant health problems or has a disability that may be exacerbated by living in a cold home, specifically:
- Cancer / Terminal illness
- Cardiovascular condition
- Respiratory condition
- Disability affecting mobility
- Mental Health Condition
